MUSIC AND ART GO HAND IN HAND FOR THIS CREATIVE POWERHOUSE.

We have had the pleasure of interviewing Assal!

Hi Assal, Welcome To Medium!

What first got you into music?

I’ve been performing as long as I remember, my dad used to always film the Family and you’ll see me having little Performances. At the age of 10, I went to a private music school and played violin in orchestra, sang in the Choir. That's when I officially got into music and I never stopped since.

Who inspired you to make music?

I used to be the big Michael Jackson Fan he had a big influence on me early on. His presence and performance was like no other plus his music had message.

I remember crying to his songs because they touched my heart even as a little kid.

Music is a big part of my culture as long as I remember we have had family gatherings weekly, music would play, and everybody dances. The Neptune’s and Timberland definitely inspired me as a producer.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Very worldly, given my background and the different continents that I grew up on. You hear my middle eastern roots mixed with afrobeat and hiphop.
(I think ob my bio you can find a description too)

What is your creative process like?

I like lighting candles and incense, have cozy lighting set a nice ambience.
I usually like starting off with a drum pattern, but sometimes I hear a sample that I love and I build the beat off that one sound. Then I lay some vocal melodies, go back and finish the beat and then finalize the vocals.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I have a list, definitely Pharell/ Neptune’s, Missy and Tilbo and my love for Afrobeat is huge so definitely Burna Boy

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

I could see myself open for:
Hmmmm good question
Rihanna
