Jacxi White is blowing up all over social media with her amazing personal style and beautiful face. Her pictures are stunning and although she doesn’t fit the mold of the typical model she is making leaps and bounds in the fashion industry.

We have had the opportunity to interview her!

Hi, Jacxi & Welcome To Medium!

Why did you choose to pursue a career as a model?

Art is important to me.

Ever since I was young I dreamed of modeling, although I am only 5’4 and I don’t quite fit the category of a high fashion runway model, which when I was growing up we’re really the only influences I had to look up to.

Now that we live in an age where Instagram dominates the fashion industry, it’s a bit of a different dynamic. Instagram has allowed me to actually pursue my passion in my own way, with my own style, without having to fit into any certain physical criteria.

What is your greatest strength, as a model?

My greatest strength as a model is my artistic vision, knowledge in photography and ability to tell a good photo from a bad one. I am very involved in all of my work. Typically I am actively directing from in front of the lens. In all of my photo shoots I am directing as much as I am modeling. assisting the photographer with lighting and positioning and well as set design.

What is you biggest weakness, as a model?

Second, guessing my work due to perfectionism. I have been called a bit of a perfectionist and that can sometimes hinder my creativity. ie not doing things unless they are perfectly executed.

What are you doing to improve on it?

It has occurred to me that I spend so much time worrying about a shoot being perfect and then realize that I could be doubling my production otherwise so I am trying to focus on producing more art at a faster pace rather than being hindered by details that no one notices but me and my photographers.

Tell me about your experience as a model…

Being born in Tampa FL, there’s not really a huge scene of modeling. But after my first photo shoot upon moving to Los ángeles as a teenager, I was sure it was what I wanted to do, so without a contract, or real reason, I began doing photoshoots, saving up from just day job as a personal assistant to a CEO of a software company. I began selling my own work and eventually I was able to quit my day job and focus full time on my passion. Instagram definitely changed the game for my career. It went from me paying, to photographers wanting to work with me and paying me, getting hired for shoots, commercials, etc.

What are your goals as a model?….

Artistic vision is very important to put into my work. My old Instagram account was deleted for no reason, and I lost all of my following at one point, so I would love to gain back my following and more. It is a huge goal of mine to start working with paid sponsors to take photos promoting products. Also would like to promote my YouTube channel.
